1.5cm seam allowance included
Begin by folding the SLEEVE CUFF in half and applying to the SLEEVE RIGHT SIDES together. Match the raw edges then sew the seam allowance.
Finish the seam allowance either with zig zag stitch or an overlocker.
Choose which side you want to have the TIE OPENING. Finish the side seam allowances of the FRONT and BACK pieces along the side seam of the TIE OPENING. (The side seam allowances without the TIE OPENING can be finished together later on).
Use zig-zag stitch or other stretch stitch throughout this project. Also ensure to use a ballpoint jersey machine needle.
Fold the TIES in half lengthways RIGHT SIDES together and sew the length and one short edge.
Leave one short edge open to allow to turn to the RIGHT SIDE.
Turn RIGHT SIDES out and press.
Align the SLEEVE RIGHT SIDES together with the FRONT. (The SHORTEST armhole on the SLEEVE matches the FRONT).
Sew and finish the seam allowance.
Repeat for the SLEEVE and the BACK piece.
Lay the FRONT RIGHT SIDES together with the BACK and align the SLEEVE seam allowance.
Mark the placement of the TIE OPENING. Sew from the SLEEVE CUFF to the TIE OPENING, secure the stitches then begin sewing again from the end of the TIE OPENING down to the hemline.
Fold the NECKLINE CUFF in half lengthways and apply to the FRONT and around the neckline.
Pin in place, arranging the raw ends of the CUFF to curve off the seam allowance either end so that there is no raw edge visible once sewn.
Tuck the open raw edges of the TIES inside themselves.
Pin the TIES in place just under the end of the NECKLINE CUFF on the FRONT.
The LONG TIE goes on the side with the TIE OPENING. The SHORT TIE goes on the side without the TIE OPENING.
Complete the garment hemline by creating a rolled hem. Fold the hem back 0.75mm, then fold back once more 0.75mm to conceal the raw edge. Hem stitch by hand or sew on the machine to secure. mətbuat.
