Q: What format will I receive my pattern in?
A: All patterns and accompanying documents are delivered in PDF format. A PDF file is an easily recognised file format for all types of devices and computers and can be easily printed.
To minimise the file sizes as much as possible, all PDF files are compressed into a ZIP file. A ZIP file can be easily opened on most computers simply by double clicking it.
In the event you are unable to open the ZIP file you may need to download a programme or app which can handle this type of file.
For iPhone and iPads, please try the ‘Document 5’ app which can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
Due to some customers having issues either downloading or opening files we are opting to start enabling access to files via Dropbox. This is a safe and secure method which will ensure you get your files regardless of the device you are using to view them.
Q: How do I print my pattern and how do I know how many pages it will need to print on?
A: With each download, printing instructions are included with images. View the Printing Instructions. Printing is very easy and you have two options:
Adobe Reader (download free here)
Adobe Reader allows you to select your page size and view how it will print over those pages. You can select to add cut marks and page numbers to allow you to easily fit the pages together once it has printed out. This method is a great way for you to take advantage of printing on larger paper if you printer allows it, so cutting down on time spent arranging the pieces together.
Print the included pattern split onto A4 pages. All you need to do for this is to ensure you set your printer settings to “actual size” or “100%”.
Q: How do I know if a pattern will fit the size I want it to?
A: Please view the Sizing Chart here to choose from the measurements closest to those you require.
Q: I just bought my pattern, how do I now download it?
A: After purchase, you will receive an email containing a link that you can click on which will take you to your file download. Alternatively you can access your account via the website link at the top of any page. Here will show you orders and available download links.
Q: I bought a pattern but I could not download it, what should I do?
A: Contact us immediately and we will ensure you get your pattern ASAP.
Q: I don’t understand something in the pattern tutorial and I am stuck, what should I do?
A: Please visit our Support Forum and post a question. You may also find the answer you are looking for is already answered!
Q: Why am I receiving a link instead of files?
A: Until recently, all customers were sent files. We decided to switch to using Dropbox as some customers experienced trouble during the download process or couldn’t open them. Using Dropbox is safe and secure and offers you the following benefits:
Save files direct to your own Dropbox
View only the latest version of pattern files
Get updates immediately
Open or save files on any device
You do not need a Dropbox account to view these files.
