Cut out all the pattern pieces.

Mark the SIDE SEAM POINT on the FRONT and BACK pieces.

Finish the outer curved edge of the WINGS with your trim. First lay the trim RIGHT SIDES together with the WING. Stitch the seam allowance. Trim the seam allowance then fold back. Top stitch close to the trim and press.

All seams will be created using french seams.

Lay the FRONT and BACK WRONG SIDES together. Pin the shoulder seams together.

Create the french seams by first stitching a seam allowance 5mm wide on the shoulder seams WS together.

tum, turn the garment WS out, flatten the seam and stitch a 1cm seam allowance to conceal the previous seam.

Finish the SIDE underarm section. The above diagram shows the method of using a custom cut strip of bias. If you are using prepared bias please adapt to suit your bias width. For custom bias make yours 1m x 4.5cm.

Pin the bias strip in place along the underarm section. Stitch a 1.5cm seam allowance.
Trim the seam allowance to about 7.5mm.
Fold over the outer edge of the bias by 1cm.
Fold the bias strip over and around the raw edge to conceal. Pin in place on the WS. Use a hand stitch such as slip stitch to secure the bias in place.

Repeat this step for the neckline.

Pin the SIDE to the FRONT and BACK RS together matching the SIDE SEAM POINTS.

Stitch a 5mm seam allowance.

Lay the WING RS together with the FRONT and BACK. Pin and stitch a 5mm seam allowance.

Turn the garment WS out. Flatten the side seam allowances and complete the french seam using a 1cm seam as in Step 3.

Press all seams.

With the garment RS out, pin the hem ends of the WING to the hem of the SIDE. Stitch a 5mm seam to secure in place.

Press all seams.

Complete the hem by applying the remaining trim as in Step 1.
