Bella Pyjamas for Dogs Tutorial

TUTOTIAL KEY

Cut out all the pattern pieces. Decide whether to use a HOOD and BUTTONSTAND. If you are not using the BUTTONSTAND, cut the center front to the solid line shown on the pattern piece.

Skip this step if you plan to not use the HOOD:

Lay the HOOD pieces RIGHT SIDES together. Pin and stitch around the center back seam allowance.

Use zig-zag stitch or other stretch stitch throughout this project. Also ensure to use a ballpoint jersey machine needle.

Take the HEM CUFF, fold it in half lengthways and stitch the seam allowance to form a complete loop.

If you are not adding the HOOD and are not using the BUTTONSTAND repeat this step for the NECKLINE CUFF.

Fold the SLEEVE CUFF in half along its width.

Ease onto the end of the SLEEVE. Pin ad stitch.

Repeat for all four SLEEVES.

If using the HOOD, repeat STEP 3 for the HOOD CUFF.

Match the back of the RAGLAN SLEEVE to the BACK RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER.

Pin and stitch in place.

Match the FRONT to the front side of the RAGLAN SLEEVE. Pin and stitch as before.

Repeat STEP 5-6 for the other side of the garment.

If you are using the BUTTONSTAND, fold it back once on one side, and twice on the other.

The side folded back once forms the stand for the buttons and sits underneath the other side which forms the stand for the button holes.

You may alternatively use velcro instead.

If you are not using a HOOD follow this step:

Apply the NECKLINE CUFF.

When applying the NECKLINE CUFF allow it to curve off at the center front so that it doesn’t end square.

Fold the BACK SLEEVES in half RIGHT SIDES together and stitch the seam allowance.

Take the HEM CUFF. Fold in half and align the seam allowance to that of the lower edge of the pyjama. Pin and ease it on as you go around.

If you are using the BUTTONSTAND finish the center front edge as in Step 8.

WITH HOOD:
Take the HOOD. Overlap CUFF sections onto each other.

Match center front and center back points of the HOOD to the FRONT and BACK sections. Do this by folding the garment in half and adding pins to mark the points. Repeat for the HOOD then match the pins together.

Pin and stitch in place.
