Lay the LINING RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER with the main garment.

Pin along the underarm, around the strap and along the plunge neckline.

Stitch, clip and trim the seam allowances to allow it to lay flat once turned RIGHT SIDES out.

Open up the LINING from the main garment. Fold the garment in half RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER.

Match the underarm point. Pin along the length from the bottom of the main garment fabric to the bottom the lining fabric.

Mark the ZIP END POINT on the LINING and the main garment.

Stitch from the hem of the main garment up until the ZIP END POINT. Backstitch to secure then change stitch length to a longer one. Continue stitching up until the underarm point. Secure and cut the threads. Change back to a smaller stitch size then begin stitching from the ZIP END POINT marking on the LINING and stitch until the LINING hem.

Notch the intersection at the underarm point.

Lay the zip RIGHT SIDES on the seam allowance of the main garment fabric from the underarm point.

Pin each side of the zip to the seam allowances only (avoid pinning to the garment). Use a zipper foot on the sewing machine and sew either side of the zip to the seam allowances.

Turn the garment RIGHT SIDES up.

Top stitch around the zip.

Using small scissors gently unpick the loose stitches to reveal the zip.

Fold the lining down inside the garment and pull the straps RIGHT SIDES out.

Turn the seam allowance of the opening in the LINING to the inside and match to the zip tape.

Use a small hand stitch to secure the lining to the zip tape.

Gently press all seams around the underarm, straps and neckline.

Create a rolled hem on the lining and main garment. Fold the hem back 0.75mm, then fold back once more 0.75mm to conceal the raw edge. Hem stitch by hand or sew on the machine to secure. Press.
