Feather Stitch

Feather Stitch - The Tailoress PDF Sewing Patterns

Used for decoratively securing a seam, tuck or pleat. Often used to secure ease and darts in a lining.

Firstly mark the central line to work down. Secure your thread at the top of the marked line. Take a diagonal stitch approximately 1cm back into the marked line, allowing the stitch to stay slightly slack. Pass the needle over the working thread when pulling through to form the feather stitch. Repeat on the opposite side of the marked line a little further down.
