Tailors Tack

Tailors Tack - The Tailoress PDF Sewing Patterns

Tailor’s tacks are used to mark placement of darts, balance marks and other features from the pattern directly to the cut garment pieces.

With the pattern still pinned to the cut fabric piece, take a long strand of embroidery floss or double a length of an alternate colour thread. Take a stitch through necessary points leaving long tails either end of about 2.5cm. Remove pattern from fabric, gently fold open the two garment pieces and snip through the stitches to leave threads in both.
