Top Stitching

Used for decorative purposes and also to hold seams flat or to accentuate them, like collars and lapels. Also helps strengthen and preserve their integrity.

Create using a heavier thread (thread especially for top stitching is available). Begin top stitching about 6mm from the edge using a longer stitch than normal.
