Cowl Neck
To adjust the basic bodice pattern to create a cowl neck:
1. Transfer the bust dart to the side seam by cutting to the bust point and closing up the original bust dart.
2. Take approximately 1 inch from the shoulder point at the neckline and draw a straight line to create a new v-neckline.
3. Decide on how many drapes you want and draw swooping curves from the neck, shoulder and armscye points to the center front.
4. Cut and spread the drapes.
5. Re-draw the pattern piece, leveling out the center front (this may be on a slight angle, re-draw the center front to the waist only) and adding a hem to the top of the cowl.
