Hana ʻākau a hema. Take the needle vertically down through the fabric and pulling to the underside. Then take the needle vertically upwards though the fabric. Form a small stitch by taking the needle down in the same manner a couple of threads down from the exit of the last stitch. Do not pull to tight to avoid puckering the fabric. A normal running stitch will appear on the underside whereas tiny dots will appear on the right side.
