KA HANAU 1:
Match two TOP pieces RIGHT SIDES together lining up the pleats.
Fold the pleats through both layers together and pin in place.
Pin and stitch the shoulder seam allowance. Paʻi.
Repeat for the remaining two TOP pieces.
KA HANAU 2:
Open up the TOP pieces RIGHT SIDE up.
Apply bias binding to the centre back and armhole seam allowances.
pin and stitch binding RIGHT SIDES together.
trim seam allowance to the finished binding width. Clip armhole seam allowance.
Press the seam.
Finish the binding by turning the un-sewn raw edge to the inside and matching the fold to the stitch line. Top stitch in place.
KA HANAU 3:
With the two TOP pieces RIGHT SIDES together, pin, stitch and finish the side seam allowance.
Repeat for the other two TOP pieces.
KA HANAU 4:
Waiho i KA WAISTBAND 1 NA AOE Akau me ka WAISTBAND 2. E humuhumu i nā ʻāpana humuhumu a hiki i nā māka. Peʻi a kaomi i ka WAISTBAND i ka hapalua o ka lōʻihi, mākaukau e noi.
KA HANAU 5:
Follow the tutorial for the skirt or trousers if you are wanting to make the dress or jumpsuit.
Match the waistlines of the TOP pieces together. Alternate how you overlap them, so if the lefthand front piece is in front of the righthand front piece, the lefthand back piece is behind the righthand back piece.
TOP
Match the centre front and back of the TOP to the WAISTBAND. Pin a humuhumu ma kahi. Finish the seam allowance and press.
DRESS/JUMPSUIT
Hooponopono i ka TOP pauku akauʻaoʻao pu me nā wāwae, a kāʻei. Match side seams and centre front and back points.
Pin a humuhumu ma kahi. Finish the seam allowance and press.
KA HANAU 6:
E pelu i ka TIE i ka hapalua ma kona loa MA KA AE KAU. E kau i kahi kaula lōʻihi ma waena. E humuhumu i luna e hoʻopaʻa i ke kaula i ka TIE. E pine a humuhumu i ka haawina humuhumu. Huki akahele i ke kaula e hoohuli ana i na aoao akau.
