1.5cm seam allowance included
Begin by matching the UPPER and LOWER CUPS RIGHT SIDES together.
Pin, stitch and finish the seam allowances by trimming and finishing with swig zag stitch or an overlocking stitch.
Match the FRONT with the BACK RIGHT SIDES together. Pin, stitch and finish as before.
Insert the CUPS to the FRONT. Ease them carefully around. The CUP seam line through the centre will match to the centre front and side points.
Pin, stitch and finish as before.
Top stitch around the CUPS and the side seams to secure the seam allowances.
Apply the elastic trim RIGHT SIDES together with the upper and lower seam allowances. Use zig-zag stitch to secure to the bra and pull it slightly taut (not tight) as you sew.
Trim the excess seam allowance, then fold the elastic to the back.
Top stitch again to conceal the raw edge.
Insert the centre back tags to the bra fastener. Fold back on themselves and stitch to secure.
Follow the BRA STRAP TUTORIAL to create two straps. Insert them to BRA STRAP INSERTION POINTS on the FRONT and BACK. You may prefer to hand stitch these on.
If you wish to use an underwire, use a small whip stitch to secure a length of soft bra wire casing to the seam allowance of the CUPS on the WRONG SIDE of the garment. Secure both sides of the casing to the CUP seam allowance.
Insert the wire then tuck the ends of the bra casing inside itself and secure with whip stitch again.
