Stab Stitch

Stab Stitch

Stab Stitch - The Tailoress PDF Sewing Patterns

Used for joining thick fabrics, pockets, creating button holes and inserting shoulder pads. Creates inconspicuous stitches on the right side.

Work right to left. Take the needle vertically down through the fabric and pulling to the underside. Then take the needle vertically upwards though the fabric. Form a small stitch by taking the needle down in the same manner a couple of threads down from the exit of the last stitch. Do not pull to tight to avoid puckering the fabric. A normal running stitch will appear on the underside whereas tiny dots will appear on the right side.
