Safari Baby Blanket 2 Tutorial
Cut out all pattern pieces. Begin by pinning the appliqué animals into place on the white fabric.
Use an appliqué stitch such a blanket stitch and secure the animal pieces in place using the white thread.
Finish the animal features using the brown embroidery thread. Use bullion knots and straight stitch.
Pin and stitch the yellow, blue and beige fabric in order. Set the seams by pressing and then press them flat.
Lay the front and back pieces of the blanket, right sides together. Pin and stitch the top first, then the sides, then the bottom leaving a 30cm section open.
Trim the corners.
Turn the blanket rights sides out and press the seams flat.
Insert the wadding.
Slip stitch the 30cm opening at the bottom, closed.
Top stitch the circumference of the blanket and along the edge of each panel of coloured fabric.
