Lingerie Construction Method
This is the method I have found best so far, I hope it works for you too!
These are mainly created using the sewing machine, not with hand-stitching as it is much more durable. Saying that, should you wish to incorporate some delicate lace or appliqué, hand-stitching would be most appropriate. I do like to attach the straps and embellishments such as bows by hand though, to avoid stitching on the right side of the garment.
Use the lingerie block to draft your patterns from. Use one of the below books for the instructions.
Some stitches you should be familiar with:
zig-zag/straight stitch on the machine.
Other equipment and materials you may need:
pressing equipment
bra fasteners
embellishments (bows)
bra sliders and rings
Construction Method:
Bra
Stitch side seams.
Insert cups.
Apply wires and wire casing.
Straps and fasteners.
Embellishments.
Undies
Stitch crotch seam including the gusset.
Stitch side seams.
Seam finishing.
Apply elastic with zig-zag stitch.
Embellishments.
